Tactical Asset Allocation

Tactical Asset Allocation uses technical analysis regarding the performance and characteristics of the assets and/or the economy to make "mid-course" changes in the long term strategy based on near term expectations. AAS believes that by utilizing both methods individuals can enhance the performance of their retirement plans. This website contains information concerning specific corporate retirement plansand is continually expanding as we add new plans. To view the list of available plans please go to the "Current Plans" tab. If you do not see your specific plan please contact us.

Strategic Asset Allocation

Most individuals are familiar with Strategic Asset Allocation. If you have ever opened a brokerage account, or participated in a 401(k), you most likely answered some questions which suggested a risk tolerance somewhere between conservative and aggressive. Then, based on that profile a suggested mix of assets might have been recommended. These recommendations use historical data (mean rates of return, standard deviations and co variances) in an attempt to understand how the asset classes have performed and are likely to perform over long periods of time. Many individuals recognize this as an asset allocation "Pie Chart," however this is where the advice stops. During market weakness or strength the "Pie Chart" does not tell the investor which asset class to under or overweight.
